Residents and electricity consumers in parts of Kubwa, Bwari and surrounding areas of Abuja are expected to experience a temporary power interruption on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said the interruption is necessary to enable it carry out its annual preventive maintenance on the Gwarimpa-Kubwa 132/33kV Line 1 bay switchgear and associated equipment.
According to TCN, the maintenance is scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The company explained that during the exercise, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to take supply from the affected transmission facility for distribution to customers in parts of Kubwa, Bwari and adjoining areas.
TCN said the maintenance is part of efforts to keep the transmission equipment in good working condition and ensure reliable electricity supply.
The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the temporary interruption may cause.
