ABUJA – Zeberced Group has announced plans to train 20,000 Nigerians through a world-class Technical and Vocational Training School while creating an estimated 40,000 direct jobs, in what the company describes as one of the largest private-sector skills development initiatives in West Africa.

The company also unveiled plans to establish a FIFA-approved football academy aimed at discovering and nurturing talented children and young people for professional football careers at both national and international levels.

The Managing Director of Zeberced Group, Mr. Adil Aydin Kurt, made the announcement during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, to the company’s facilities at the Abuja Industrial Park Free Zone.

According to Kurt, the proposed Technical and Vocational Training School will admit about 2,000 students annually, with the capacity to produce approximately 20,000 skilled graduates over the coming years.

He said the project is expected to create about 40,000 direct jobs while equipping young Nigerians with practical skills needed to drive industrialisation, entrepreneurship and economic growth.

“Zeberced is currently working on a vocational training school which will offer training in various fields to young Nigerians and, in the process, provide 40,000 direct jobs. This is going to be a sample project and is presently the biggest operation of its kind in West Africa,” Kurt said.

The institution will provide specialised training in Construction Technology, Machine and Design Technology, Motor Vehicle Technology, Plumbing Technology, Metal Technology, Furniture Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Technology.

Kurt explained that the school is designed to produce industry-ready graduates with practical skills that will enhance employability, encourage self-reliance and support entrepreneurship.
Reaffirming the company’s confidence in Nigeria, he said Zeberced remains committed to long-term investments that will accelerate industrialisation and strengthen the country’s human capital.

“We are very serious about our work. I have many ideas and visions to share. We need to bring qualified people from different parts of the world to Nigeria because the future is Africa,” he stated.

Beyond technical education, Kurt disclosed that the company is developing a FIFA-approved football academy that will identify, train and mentor young football talents for opportunities in local and international competitions.

He also revealed that Zeberced operates what it described as Africa’s first integrated mining quarry while expanding investments in manufacturing, construction and industrial infrastructure across Nigeria.

The Managing Director further announced plans to facilitate the establishment of hundreds of factories within the Idu Industrial Area to boost local manufacturing, create employment opportunities and reduce dependence on imported products.

According to him, the industrial development project began about 15 years ago and has continued to progress despite several challenges.

He noted that the company’s investments in manufacturing, furniture production, plastics and other industrial sectors, supported by modern equipment and infrastructure, are expected to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s economic transformation.

Responding, Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, commended Zeberced Group for its commitment to youth empowerment, skills development and national growth.

She described the proposed vocational institution and industrial expansion as strategic interventions that could help tackle unemployment, promote self-reliance among young Nigerians and support the country’s economic diversification agenda.

Grace Ike also briefed the company on the ongoing construction of the NUJ FCT Council’s ultra-modern Congress Hall, which has reached the decking stage, and appealed for the company’s support toward completing the project.

In response, Kurt pledged Zeberced Group’s readiness to partner with the council, reaffirming the company’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen institutions and promote sustainable national development.

Both organisations expressed optimism about building a long-term partnership focused on industrial growth, youth empowerment, professional development and inclusive socio-economic progress.

Zeberced Group has maintained operations in Nigeria since 2007, with investments spanning manufacturing, construction, industrial infrastructure and human capital development.
