Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to personally intervene in the tragic kidnapping and killing of a teacher in Oyo State, describing the incident as horrifying and demanding urgent federal action.
Adeyanju, through his law firm, Deji Adeyanju and Partners, made the appeal in a formal letter addressed to the President over the abduction, murder and alleged beheading of Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, one of the teachers kidnapped from Community High School, Ahoro-Esile, in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The letter stated that the law firm was acting on behalf of the Oyedokun family and urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts toward recovering the deceased teacher’s remains and rescuing other victims still being held captive.

According to the petition, the late Olugbade was a peaceful and dedicated teacher whose life was “cruelly and violently cut short under heartbreaking and inhumane circumstances.”
The firm noted that the slain teacher is survived by his wife and two sons, who have been left traumatised by the tragic incident.
Adeyanju further expressed concern that several other persons abducted during the same attack are still in captivity and may be facing life-threatening conditions.
“Beyond the personal grief of our clients, several innocent Nigerians abducted alongside the late teacher are still believed to be held by the terrorists,” the letter stated.
The lawyer also lamented that despite widespread reports of Olugbade’s death, his body has yet to be recovered for burial.
He appealed to President Tinubu to direct relevant security and intelligence agencies to intensify efforts toward locating and recovering the remains of the deceased teacher to enable his family conduct a dignified burial.
The law firm also urged the President not to leave the matter entirely in the hands of aides or representatives but to personally visit the affected families.
According to the letter, such direct engagement would reassure grieving families that the government stands firmly with them and remains committed to securing the release of the remaining abducted victims and ensuring justice for those responsible.
Adeyanju stressed that the incident deserves urgent national attention and called on the Federal Government to treat the matter with the seriousness it deserves.
