The National Identity Management Commission has launched new digital customer support platforms aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing user experience for Nigerians and legal residents seeking assistance with National Identification Number (NIN) related services.

The Commission announced the introduction of a Live Chat feature on its official website alongside an official WhatsApp support channel designed to provide faster, easier and real-time access to customer support.

According to NIMC, the initiative forms part of ongoing reforms and digital transformation efforts being implemented under the leadership of Abisoye Coker-Odusote to improve accessibility, responsiveness and operational efficiency in identity management services across the country.

Members of the public can now access support services through the Live Chat feature available on the official NIMC website and the newly introduced WhatsApp support line for enquiries, guidance and updates related to NIN services.

The Commission stated that the digital platforms were introduced to reduce the need for physical visits to enrolment centres while ensuring that citizens receive prompt responses and verified information from official sources.

NIMC noted that the move aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which focuses on improving public sector efficiency and expanding access to government services through technology-driven solutions.

The Commission added that the new support systems are expected to strengthen citizen engagement, improve trust in identity management processes and provide more convenient communication channels for Nigerians at home and abroad.

NIMC further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and engage only through official communication channels to avoid misinformation, scams and fraudulent activities linked to identity management services.

Citizens were encouraged to utilize the platforms for verified information, customer support and updates concerning NIN registration, modification and other identity-related services.
