📍Abuja | Media Report
The Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Ahmadu Musa Kida, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent wave of deadly attacks in Borno State, describing the incidents as heartbreaking and calling for an immediate end to the violence.

In an emotional statement, Kida lamented that the attacks occurred during Ramadan, a period traditionally dedicated to peace, reflection, and unity. He noted that explosions struck communities at the time residents were breaking their fast, turning moments of worship into scenes of tragedy.

According to him, the scale of destruction and loss of lives has left many families shattered. He recounted the devastating case of a father who reportedly lost four children in a single incident, describing the loss as unimaginable. Across affected communities, he said, grief has replaced the joy that once filled homes.

Kida also paid tribute to fallen security personnel, including officers of the Nigeria Police Force and troops of the Nigerian Army, commending their bravery and sacrifice in protecting civilians.

He further expressed anguish over the killing of a young girl in her home, noting that such incidents highlight the growing vulnerability of innocent citizens amid the ongoing violence.

Condemning the attacks, Kida described them as senseless acts that have brought immense suffering, stressing that no cause can justify the killing of innocent people or the destruction of communities.

The NNPCL chairman also commended the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ongoing efforts to restore peace, as well as the commitment of security agencies battling insurgency in the region.

He praised Babagana Zulum and the Borno State Government for their continued support to victims and efforts at rebuilding affected communities, noting that such leadership offers hope in difficult times.

Kida urged those responsible for the violence to reconsider their actions and embrace peace, appealing to them to reflect on the pain inflicted on innocent lives.

He also called on residents of Borno to remain united, stressing the importance of compassion, community support, and collective resilience in overcoming the crisis.

Despite the tragedy, Kida expressed optimism that Borno will recover, emphasizing that the strength of its people, alongside government and security efforts, can lead to lasting peace.
