The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Dr. Umar Majigi as the substantive Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of the party.
This was contained in a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, the appointment, announced in Abuja on February 3, 2026, recognises Dr. Majigi’s expertise, professionalism, and contributions to strengthening and modernising the party’s ICT systems.
Dr. Majigi holds a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity Science alongside other academic and professional qualifications in web design, programming, and data processing. Before this appointment, he served as Assistant Director of ICT at the APC National Secretariat and was later elevated to Acting Director of ICT, where he provided strategic and operational leadership.
During his tenure as Acting Director, he played a key role in enhancing the party’s ICT infrastructure, overseeing data management systems and deploying digital solutions that improved party operations across the country. He was also instrumental in the implementation of the APC membership e-registration system, which significantly improved the efficiency, accessibility, and credibility of the party’s membership database.
The party stated that the appointment reflects its commitment to merit-based advancement, institutional continuity, and strengthening internal capacity through the promotion of experienced personnel.
