The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has congratulated rising heavyweight boxing star, Moses Itauma, on his latest triumph in the ring, describing the feat as another proud moment for Nigerians across the globe.
In a statement signed by Gabriel Odu of the Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, the Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, praised Itauma’s discipline, resilience, and consistency qualities she said have firmly established him as one of the most exciting prospects in world boxing.
“Moses’ victory is a testament to his discipline and resilience values that reflect the excellence Nigerians are renowned for globally,” NiDCOM noted. “His success story inspires not only the Nigerian community in the diaspora but also young athletes everywhere aspiring to greatness.”
Born in Kežmarok, Slovakia, to a Nigerian father and Slovak mother, Itauma later relocated with his family to England, where his boxing talent blossomed. Though he now competes as a Briton, NiDCOM emphasized that his Nigerian heritage remains a strong part of his journey, describing his rise as “a remarkable story of talent, determination, and heritage.”
The Commission expressed confidence that Itauma’s career will continue on an upward trajectory, stressing that his success highlights the global impact of Nigerians excelling in diverse fields.
