In a series of coordinated offensive operations aimed at clearing terrorist enclaves and restoring peace in the North East, troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), backed by air support and working in synergy with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, have neutralized 24 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, and logistics supplies across Borno and Adamawa States.

According to Theatre Spokesperson, Captain Reuben Kovangiya, the successful operations were carried out between July 4 and 9, 2025, with multiple engagements across key locations in the Sambisa Forest axis, Konduga, Madagali, and other flashpoints.

Major Operations and Outcomes:

Ambush at Platari – July 4

Troops laid a successful ambush at Platari, intercepting Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists riding bicycles from the Sambisa Forest towards the Timbuktu Triangle. Three insurgents were neutralized during the firefight.

Engagement at Komala Axis

Acting on intelligence reports, troops launched another ambush near Komala, eliminating one terrorist and recovering several items, including motorcycles, pesticides, sprayers, and food supplies.

Night Operation in Kawuri, Konduga

Later the same day, troops struck a terrorist hideout in Kawuri (Konduga LGA), killing two logistics operatives. Seized items included salt, detergents, and seasoning, believed to be intended for insurgents’ camps.

IDP Camp Interception – Madarari, July 5

Troops intercepted terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Madarari IDP Camp in Konduga. One insurgent was killed, and ammunition was recovered during the operation.

Fighting Patrol at Leno Kura

In a daring raid at Leno Kura, troops engaged insurgents with intense crossfire from multiple angles, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists.

Ambush at Ngoshe-Gava Axis – July 6

Troops executed a night ambush at a known crossing point along Ngoshe–Gava and Amuda–Ashigashiya, killing one terrorist, while others escaped with injuries.

Logistics Interdiction – Sabsawa Village, July 7

Following credible intelligence, troops ambushed terrorists’ logistics suppliers near Sabsawa, neutralizing two insurgents. Items recovered included bicycles, torchlights, batteries, and sacks of slippers.

Joint Clearance Operations:

Bula Marwa Assault – July 8

In a joint ground-air operation supported by the OPHK Air Component, troops cleared the ISWAP/JAS stronghold at Bula Marwa, killing a terrorist and recovering a firearm, uniforms, and destroying insurgents’ structures.

Fighting Patrol Pambula Village (Adamawa)

In Madagali LGA, troops, hunters, and CJTF conducted a patrol at Pambula village, engaging the enemy in a firefight that left one terrorist dead. Troops recovered four motorcycles and a rifle.

Follow-up Operation – Tangalanga and Bula Marwa, July 9

Troops intensified operations with another clearance strike in Tangalanga and Bula Marwa, eliminating three insurgents and dismantling their camp. Six AK-47 rifles, 47 magazines, and 90 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered.

Ambush at Ngailda, Manjim, and Wulle

In coordinated ambushes at Ngailda, Manjim, and Wulle villages, troops made contact with insurgents and killed six terrorists, while others fled in disarray. Troops recovered motorcycles and bicycles used by the fleeing fighters.

Coordinated Success, Regional Impact

Captain Kovangiya emphasized that the success of these missions demonstrates the relentless pressure being mounted on insurgents and the effectiveness of joint operations in reclaiming territories.

“The neutralization of 24 terrorists, with close air support, reflects the synergy and determination of our troops and partners to cripple insurgent logistics and restore security across the region,” he stated.
“These operations are part of sustained efforts to create an enabling environment for peace, resettlement, and socio-economic development in the North East.”
