His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, is set to be honoured with the Peace Governor of the Year Award 2025 at the forthcoming National Peace and Unity Summit, organized by the Global Alliance for Peace and Unity (GAPU).
The high-profile summit will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2025, at the Royal Choice Inn Hotel, Abuja, under the theme: “Peace and Unity as a Panacea for Democratic and Economic Development.” The event is expected to attract over 1,000 key stakeholders across government, civil society, security agencies, and the private sector.
According to Maryam Aminu, Chairperson of the Summit Publicity Committee, Governor Sule was selected following a comprehensive assessment of his administration’s strides in peacebuilding, economic advancement, and inclusive governance across Nasarawa State.
“Governor Sule has exemplified true leadership through his unwavering commitment to community harmony, sustainable development, and peaceful governance. His recognition is well deserved,” she stated.
The summit will also serve as a platform to honour several other eminent Nigerians who have made outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, national development, youth empowerment, and good governance.

The National Peace and Unity Summit 2025 is expected to foster robust dialogue on peaceful coexistence, strengthen democratic institutions, and spotlight leaders who are shaping a more united and prosperous Nigeria.
