In a strategic move to elevate the standard of its football operations, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has officially handed over the management of its football club to Babs Integrated Service, a renowned professional football management outfit.
The handover ceremony, which took place on July 4, 2025, was presided over by the FRSC Head of Sports, Corps Commander Asanya Daniel N, FSI, in line with the directive of the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed.
The decision marks a significant shift towards professionalizing the Corps’ football activities, with the initial agreement set for a four-year tenure.
Speaking at the event, Corps Commander Asanya praised the Corps Marshal for his forward-thinking initiative, emphasizing that football is now a global business that offers vast opportunities for growth, visibility, and youth engagement. He expressed optimism that the partnership will bring immense benefits to both the Corps and its football program.
On his part, Tijani Babangida, President of Babs Integrated Service and former Nigerian international footballer, expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in his company. He pledged to bring professionalism, value, and visibility to the FRSC Football Club while using the platform to scout and nurture young talents for both local and international stages.
“This partnership is not only about football but also about promoting youth empowerment and enhancing the image of the FRSC through sports,” Babangida noted.
The collaboration is expected to enhance the performance and structure of the FRSC Football Club, positioning it as a competitive team in the Nigerian football ecosystem while supporting the Corps’ broader goal of youth development and national representation in sports.
