‎The Honourable Minister of Education, Chief Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa FAMedS, CON, has condemned in strong terms the attack on Government Girls School, Maga, in Kebbi State, where schoolgirls were abducted and the Vice Principal was killed in cold blood.
‎
‎In a statement issued on Wednesday,by Boriowo Folasade Director, Press and Public Relations Federal Ministry of Education on the 19th November 2025 the Minister described the incident as “heartbreaking and utterly unacceptable,” noting that the gruesome killing of an educator and the abduction of innocent children represents a direct assault on Nigeria’s future.
‎
‎Dr. Alausa extended his condolences to the affected families, the school community, and the people of Kebbi State. He emphasized that no parent should endure the trauma of having their children taken away, and no teacher should lose their life while carrying out the noble task of shaping young minds.

‎
‎Calling the attack a “cruel and senseless act,” the Minister reiterated that the Federal Ministry of Education is already working closely with security and intelligence agencies, as well as the Kebbi State Government, to secure the immediate rescue of the abducted girls and ensure that the perpetrators face justice.
‎
‎He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening school security nationwide, especially in high-risk communities where students and teachers remain vulnerable to violent attacks.
‎
‎“This painful moment strengthens our resolve,” Dr. Alausa said. “Our children deserve to learn in safety, and our teachers deserve to work without fear. We will not relent until every school in Nigeria becomes a place of protection, dignity, and hope.”
