The Ebonyi State Government has reviewed the curfew imposed on Amasiri Community following the January 29 killings in Okporojo, Oso-Edda.

Under the new directive, residents will now be allowed to move freely between 7:00am and 6:00pm daily.

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru announced the decision after a State Security Council meeting, saying the adjustment followed intelligence briefings and progress made in ongoing investigations.

According to the governor, the council adopted additional security measures aimed at restoring peace to Amasiri and Okporojo communities as quickly as possible.

He also disclosed that individuals arrested in connection with the crisis will be charged to court.

Meanwhile, the council directed that all schools in Amasiri remain closed pending the conclusion of investigations, a move officials say is intended to prevent further escalation.

The state government reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice and stabilising the affected communities as security agencies continue their work.

The statement was issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Monday Uzor.
