Spanish Corporation Visits ARCN, Reaffirms Existing Collaboration
The Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) has received a delegation from the Spanish Corporation, which visited the Council to reaffirm ongoing collaboration with the Regional Centre of Excellence in Aquaculture, domiciled within ARCN.

The statement Reads: Speaking during the visit, the leader of the delegation, Beatriz Navalón, said the purpose of their engagement was to brief the Council on progress made under the partnership, particularly in the area of women and youth empowerment through aquaculture development.
The Executive Secretary of ARCN, management staff, and representatives of the Regional Centre of Excellence expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the Spanish Corporation for its sustained support.

The Coordinator of the Regional Centre of Excellence in Aquaculture, Dr. Charity Obetta, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, noting that the intervention came at a crucial time for Nigerian women and youth.
She explained that the Centre is strengthening the aquaculture value chain by empowering beneficiaries across key areas including fish seed production, table fish production, processing, trading, and feed production.
Also speaking, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Dr. Aliyu Shuaibu Madugu, highlighted past and ongoing programmes facilitated through ARCN’s agricultural research and development efforts. He noted that these initiatives continue to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s food sustainability agenda.
