Insecurity: Adeyanju Demands Decisive Action from President Tinubu After Kwara Church Attack

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive and urgent steps to tackle the rising insecurity across the country, warning that failure to act should compel the President to resign.

Adeyanju, in a statement issued on Friday, reacted to the recent armed attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State, where gunmen reportedly killed at least two worshippers, injured several others, and abducted an unspecified number of people.

He described the wave of violence sweeping across the country as “beyond depressing,” noting that the attack on a place of worship further highlights the grim reality that “no one is safe in Nigeria.”

According to him, the proximity of the incident to a police station underscores what he termed the government’s unwillingness or inability to effectively protect its citizens.

“The daily killings of Nigerians are heartbreaking and unacceptable. An attack on a place of worship is an indication of the terrifying reality we now live in. The fact that this incident occurred close to a police station makes it even more troubling,” Adeyanju said.

He insisted that President Tinubu must take bold and far-reaching actions to restore security or take responsibility by stepping aside.

Adeyanju further urged security agencies to intensify efforts, review their strategies, and adopt more effective measures to safeguard lives and property across the country.
