The Nigeria Youths in Politics (NYP) has appointed Prince Oluwatosin Enikuomenhin as its new Director-General as the organisation moves to strengthen its structures and expand youth participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointment, approved by the organisation’s leadership, is part of efforts to improve institutional coordination, promote innovation, attract strategic partnerships and strengthen resource mobilisation.
In a statement, NYP said the decision reflected its commitment to building a competent and results-driven leadership structure capable of advancing youth participation in politics, leadership and governance across Nigeria.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Abuja, the organisation’s President, Hon. Blessing Oyefeso, said Enikuomenhin’s appointment followed due process and was based on his professional background, leadership experience, entrepreneurial achievements and commitment to youth development.
Oyefeso expressed confidence that the new Director-General would bring fresh ideas, professional expertise and strategic direction to the organisation, particularly in youth empowerment, institutional development and resource mobilisation.

He said the appointment would strengthen coordination among the organisation’s directorates, improve the implementation of presidential directives and create a more effective operational structure.
According to him, the organisation expects the new DG to play a key role in mobilising young Nigerians and encouraging their active participation in the democratic process as the country approaches the 2027 elections.
The NYP president urged Enikuomenhin to discharge his responsibilities with professionalism, creativity, accountability and dedication.
He also emphasised the importance of teamwork and institutional loyalty, encouraging the new Director-General to work closely with members of the National Working Committee to expand the organisation’s reach and deliver programmes with measurable impact.
In his acceptance speech, Enikuomenhin pledged to build a united, organised and influential organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also promised to work closely with Oyefeso and other members of the national leadership to advance the organisation’s objectives and strengthen its contribution to national development.
Meanwhile, the organisation disclosed its readiness to endorse a presidential candidate of its choice for the 2027 presidential election, although it did not identify the candidate.
The appointment comes as political groups and stakeholders continue to position themselves ahead of the next general elections, with youth participation expected to remain a major issue in Nigeria’s democratic process.
