The Chairperson of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), FCT Chapter, Mrs Hajia Maimuna Muhammed Sanusi, on Monday led a delegation of the association on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, at the Command Headquarters in Garki II, Abuja.
During the visit, the POWA Chairperson appreciated the Commissioner of Police for approving the engagement and praised his leadership efforts towards maintaining peace and security across the Federal Capital Territory.
Mrs Sanusi reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting police officers and their families, while promoting unity, welfare and stability within police households across the Command.

She acknowledged the sacrifices and dedication of police personnel in the discharge of their responsibilities, assuring officers of POWA’s continuous encouragement, solidarity and support.
According to her, the association will continue to work closely with the leadership of the FCT Police Command to improve the welfare and wellbeing of police families.
Responding, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi appreciated the delegation for the visit and commended POWA for its consistent support for officers and their families.
The Commissioner of Police noted that the role of families remains vital in boosting the morale and effectiveness of officers in service delivery and law enforcement duties.

He assured the association of the Command’s support for programmes and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of police families and strengthening family values within the Force.
CP Sanusi also encouraged members of POWA to remain steadfast in supporting their husbands, stressing that family encouragement contributes significantly to effective policing and public safety.
The visit ended with goodwill messages and a renewed commitment towards promoting the welfare of police personnel and sustaining security across the Federal Capital Territory.
