The Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has extended her deepest condolences to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari, following his passing on Sunday in London.
In a statement issued by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Jonathan Eze, the Minister described President Buhari’s death as a monumental loss to the nation, noting that his life was one of service, dedication, and resilience.
“President Buhari’s legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of our national journey,” the Minister stated. “He led Nigeria with focus and integrity, and his policies left a lasting impact, particularly in areas concerning the welfare and development of women and children.”
Hajiya Imaan highlighted the significant strides made during Buhari’s administration in promoting gender equality and empowering women, describing those efforts as foundational to the Ministry’s current work and future goals.
“In this moment of national mourning, we remember him not only as a leader but as a visionary whose ideals continue to guide us. His commitment to a united, secure, and progressive Nigeria remains a source of inspiration to many.”
The Minister called on all Nigerians to reflect on the values President Buhari embodied discipline, patriotism, and service and to uphold these ideals in their everyday lives.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones at this time of sorrow. We stand in solidarity with all Nigerians as we honor his memory and legacy,” she concluded.
