The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed that each promotion within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) strengthens the institution’s operational capacity, morale, and commitment to national service.
This was contained in a statement Signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame Director of Public Relations and Information Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force on 12 November 2025
Air Marshal Aneke stated this while congratulating Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) recently promoted to their next ranks, effective from 1 September 2025. He described the exercise as a key part of NAF’s continuous drive to enhance professionalism, motivation, and personnel development all vital to achieving operational excellence.

“With every promotion, we build a smarter, more resilient, and more dedicated Air Force,” the CAS declared. “Each elevated airman and airwoman represents renewed strength and national confidence in our mission to protect and serve.”
The Air Chief emphasized that the 2025 NCO promotion process was transparent and merit-based, in line with the standards of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He added that personnel who have completed the required technical or professional training would be duly considered during subsequent mustering and upgrading exercises.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers, urging them to view their advancement as both an honour and a greater responsibility. “Promotion is not just about rising in rank; it is about rising to greater expectations,” he said. “You have earned this through hard work and sacrifice. Now is the time to give even more to your country and the Service.”
Reiterating his leadership philosophy built on motivation and mentorship, Air Marshal Aneke noted that morale remains a decisive factor in achieving mission success. According to him, a highly trained, well-equipped, and motivated workforce is central to the Nigerian Air Force’s mission readiness and overall combat effectiveness.
“Our personnel are our greatest asset. When they are motivated, our operations become sharper, our decisions smarter, and our impact greater,” he said. He added that a motivated and well-trained force sustains the NAF’s operational edge in modern warfare and enhances its capacity to safeguard Nigerian citizens from emerging security threats.
The 2025 promotion, he said, aligns with ongoing efforts to institutionalise professionalism through a deliberate balance of training, welfare, and career progression. It also reflects the NAF’s long-term commitment to grooming the next generation of leaders who will sustain operational efficiency and strategic innovation.
“As your new ranks take effect, let them inspire greater humility, responsibility, and dedication,” the CAS charged. “Together, we will continue to soar higher for the flag, for the Force, and for the future of our nation.”
