They say 30 is the new 20 but let’s be honest, it hits differently when the calendar turns and you realize you’re no longer in your twenties.
Before I turned 30, I thought I had it all figured out. I was chasing career goals, keeping up with social expectations, and ticking off society’s imaginary checklist. But looking back now, I realize there are things I wish someone had told me earlier.
Here are the five truths I wish I knew before 30
1. Your Career Path Doesn’t Have to Be Linear
It’s okay to switch fields. It’s okay to start over. You’re not behind you’re discovering what fits.
2. Relationships Are Everything
The network you build in your twenties can open doors in your thirties and beyond. Prioritize people, not just promotions.
3. Rest is Productive
Burnout doesn’t earn you medals. Learn to recharge. Protect your peace like you protect your phone battery.
4. Invest Early, No Matter How Little
Even small amounts can grow into wealth over time. The best time to start was yesterday the next best time is now.
5. You Don’t Need Everyone’s Approval
Live your truth. The right people will find you when you’re living authentically.
Your twenties are for trying, failing, learning, and growing. Don’t fear the big 3-0. Embrace it with clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of purpose.
Turning 30 isn’t a deadline it’s a doorway. Read these 5 things I wish I knew before the big 3-0 and start living with more intention today.
