Luanda, July 31, 2025 – In celebration of African Women’s Day, TAAG Angola Airlines made aviation history by operating a special flight crewed entirely by women a powerful tribute to the resilience, capability, and growing influence of African women across professional fields.
The symbolic flight, which followed the Luanda–Johannesburg–Luanda route last Sunday, was operated by a team of thirteen highly trained and accomplished female professionals. It served as both a tribute to the continent’s women and a statement of TAAG’s deepening commitment to gender inclusion and equality in the aviation sector.
The initiative reflects TAAG’s strategic emphasis on “People and Community,” one of the core pillars of its corporate vision. The airline continues to promote values such as diversity, meritocracy, and equity as key drivers of innovation and workplace excellence.
“This special flight is more than a celebration it’s a demonstration of what’s possible when women are empowered and given equal opportunities,” the airline stated.
While women currently make up about 31% of TAAG’s 2,600-strong workforce, they hold influential roles across administrative and operational departments. Notably, women occupy 50% of the airline’s C-suite leadership, overseeing major directorates such as Finance, Human Resources & Legal, and Global Procurement.
The historic all-female flight not only inspires a new generation of African women in aviation but also reinforces TAAG’s broader mission of building a more inclusive, balanced, and future-ready workforce.
