The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has reaffirmed his dedication to building strong and effective partnerships with key stakeholders to actualize the strategic mandate given to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This commitment was disclosed in a press statement issued on Thursday by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd.
During a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, on Wednesday, Mr. Ojulari highlighted the importance of collaboration and alignment in achieving significant progress within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Ojulari emphasized that his leadership team is entering office with a clear vision and a cooperative mindset, stressing that the success of NNPC Ltd depends on synergy with key ministries and stakeholders, including the Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Finance.
“We are here with a mindset of partnership—partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, with the Ministry of Finance, and with all other critical stakeholders. Our goal is to bridge gaps, foster alignment, and move forward with a united front. Antagonism benefits no one; collaboration is how we win,” he stated.
In response, Senator Lokpobiri expressed full confidence in the capabilities of the new NNPC Ltd leadership team. He noted that he personally knows many members of the executive team and has received excellent feedback regarding their professional acumen.
“This is arguably the strongest leadership team NNPC Ltd has ever assembled,” the Minister remarked. “Now is the time to translate that reputation into measurable results—especially in increasing crude oil production and ensuring the sector delivers optimal value to the Nigerian people.”
Senator Lokpobiri also assured Ojulari of his unwavering support and pledged to work closely with him to create a conducive environment that would allow NNPC Ltd to thrive and fulfill its national responsibilities.
The renewed commitment to partnership is a new phase for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, characterized by collaborative leadership, operational efficiency, and a shared drive toward national development.
