
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has extended warm greetings to Muslim journalists and the entire Muslim community in Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement, the NUJ FCT Chairperson, Comrade Grace Ike, praised Muslim faithful for their dedication, self-discipline, and spiritual devotion throughout the holy month of Ramadan. She described the period as a time for deep reflection and a reaffirmation of values such as love, sacrifice, and unity.
“As we mark the end of Ramadan, we are reminded of the virtues of patience, generosity, and compassion. These values should continue to guide us, both in our work as journalists and in our responsibilities as citizens of this great nation,” she said.
Comrade Ike urged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of Eid by fostering peace, understanding, and a strong commitment to truth and justice. She emphasized the vital role of journalists in promoting integrity, strengthening national unity, and contributing to Nigeria’s progress.
She also expressed hope that the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations would bring renewed hope, blessings, and prosperity to all Nigerians. She encouraged citizens to observe the festivities with love, harmony, and a renewed sense of purpose.
“The NUJ FCT Council extends its heartfelt wishes to all Muslim faithful and prays for lasting peace, progress, and unity in our country,” the statement concluded.
Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan, is a significant celebration for Muslims worldwide, symbolizing gratitude, communal harmony, and acts of charity.
