
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, has called on staff to ensure that the agency’s 2025 budget is executed in line with its strategic objectives.
Speaking at NiMet’s Budget Retreat on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Prof. Anosike emphasized the need to prioritize projects and activities to align with the agency’s five key focus areas: Infrastructure development; Financial sustainability; Effective stakeholder partnerships; Employee growth and welfare; Operational efficiency
He stressed that adherence to these strategic pillars would ensure that NiMet remains vibrant, efficient, and sustainable.

Furthermore, Prof. Anosike reminded staff of the importance of strict compliance with procurement laws and processes, noting that budget performance is crucial to achieving NiMet’s overall objectives.
He highlighted that the retreat served as a platform to review the 2025 budget, assess achievements, and address key managerial and welfare-related concerns within the agency.
