The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended warm congratulations to His Excellency Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the occasion of Jordan’s Independence Anniversary.

Nigeria and Jordan enjoy a longstanding relationship grounded in mutual respect, cooperation, and shared values, particularly in the pursuit of peace, stability, and sustainable development.

Nigeria commends Jordan’s leadership in promoting interfaith harmony, regional diplomacy, and humanitarian efforts especially its commitment to hosting refugees and advocating for a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue.
The recent designation of Jordan as a permanent pilgrimage destination for Nigerian Christians marks a significant milestone in bilateral relations, strengthening cultural and religious exchanges between both nations. Nigeria deeply appreciates the Kingdom’s continued hospitality and support in facilitating smooth and enriching pilgrimage experiences for its citizens.
As both countries seek to expand collaboration in areas such as trade, agriculture, technology, and tourism, Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to deepening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
On this momentous occasion, Nigeria congratulates the government and people of Jordan and looks forward to continued cooperation and friendship in the years ahead.
