The Federal Government of Nigeria has condemned in strong terms the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, which claimed the lives of at least 26 people, mostly tourists, and left several others injured.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, expressed Nigeria’s deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the government and people of India.
“Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is a global threat that demands collective resolve and sustained international cooperation,” the Minister stated.
Amb. Tuggar noted that Nigeria, having experienced similar acts of terror, fully understands the pain and devastation such violence inflicts on individuals, families, and nations. He reiterated Nigeria’s call for greater global unity in addressing terrorism and extremism.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, the survivors, and the entire Indian nation,” the statement read. “Nigeria stands in solidarity with India in the ongoing fight for peace, stability, and justice around the world.”
