The Nasarawa State Government has approved over ₦1 billion for the upgrade of water supply infrastructure in the Nasarawa West Senatorial District. This strategic investment is aimed at improving access to clean and safe water for communities across the region.
Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration made the commitment as part of its ongoing efforts to tackle water scarcity and enhance public health through sustainable water infrastructure projects.
The General Manager of the Nasarawa State Water Board, Dr. Abubakar Kana, made this known while speaking with journalists in Kaduna. He made the announcement shortly after receiving the “Most Outstanding Visionary Public Servant” award at a ceremony organized by Authentic News Daily.
The award event, held at the historic Arewa House, was attended by a broad cross-section of society, including government officials, legislators, religious leaders, business professionals, and civil society representatives.
Dr. Kana noted that the substantial funding approved reflects the government’s strong commitment to solving water supply challenges in Nasarawa West. He stressed that reliable water access is a key driver of improved living standards and community well-being.
He added that the Water Board will ensure transparent and efficient use of the funds to deliver lasting impact. The project, once completed, is expected to significantly reduce water-related hardships faced by residents and support broader development goals across the senatorial district.
