The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (AC OPHK), has intensified its counter-terrorism campaign in the North East, neutralising dozens of insurgents and destroying a major stronghold in Borno State.
In a statement on Thursday, NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame confirmed that precision strikes were executed on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, around 10:50 a.m., after intelligence and surveillance reports indicated unusual terrorist activities at Bula Madibale, within the Gezuwa general area.
Reconnaissance footage revealed about 45 terrorists converging at the location, with some arriving on motorcycles and bicycles. Two flags belonging to the terrorists were also spotted at the site, signifying its role as a major operational base and rallying point.
“Acting on the intelligence, the Air Component launched a well-coordinated interdiction mission that inflicted devastating effects on the target. Several terrorists were eliminated, while their flagged structures and other hostile assets were completely destroyed,” Ejodame stated.
He emphasised that the operation underscores the Air Force’s commitment to preventing terrorists from regrouping or staging attacks against innocent communities.
Ejodame further assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces remain resolute in their mission to restore lasting peace and stability across the North East and other crisis-affected regions of the country.
