In a landmark development aimed at strengthening leadership and operational efficiency within the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has approved the promotion of 100 senior officers across key command levels.

The statement reads: Acting on behalf of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the SGF approved the elevation of 51 Deputy Corps Commanders to Corps Commanders, and 49 Assistant Corps Commanders to Deputy Corps Commanders.
The milestone promotion exercise is being celebrated as a major stride in reinforcing the FRSC’s commitment to excellence, professionalism, and strategic leadership, aligning with national goals of improved road safety and human capital development.

Commending the merit-based and transparent nature of the promotion process, Senator Akume lauded the FRSC leadership for upholding objectivity and fairness. He encouraged the newly promoted officers to recommit themselves to the Corps’ core mission of reducing road traffic crashes and enhancing safety on Nigerian roads.
“This exercise is a reflection of the Tinubu administration’s resolve to reward hard work, diligence, and excellence in public service,” the SGF stated.
In his congratulatory message, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, praised the officers for their outstanding performance and loyalty, describing the promotion as well-deserved. He reminded them that with greater rank comes increased responsibility, and urged them to maintain the highest standards of discipline, service, and integrity.
He also addressed officers who were not promoted in this round, encouraging them to remain committed and assuring that future opportunities for recognition and advancement remain open.
“As we celebrate this achievement, I urge all personnel to continue contributing meaningfully to the realisation of our strategic objectives and national safety mandate,” the Corps Marshal added.
The FRSC leadership reaffirmed its commitment to staff welfare, continuous training, and performance-driven advancement as part of its long-term institutional growth strategy.
