Major Reshuffle: FRSC Corps Marshal Redeploys Senior Officers to Boost Road Safety Efforts
In a major shake-up aimed at strengthening the Federal Road Safety Corps’ (FRSC) operations, the Corps Marshal has redeployed two Deputy Corps Marshals (DCMs), two Assistant Corps Marshals (ACMs), and 24 Corps Commanders to strategic departments and sector offices nationwide.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Public Education Officer, the redeployments take immediate effect and are part of ongoing efforts to enhance a safer motoring environment across the country.
Key redeployments include Deputy Corps Marshal Aliyu Datsama, fsi, who moves from Special Duties and External Relations to head the Department of Motor Vehicle Administration. DCM Pauline Olaye, formerly in charge of the Project Implementation Office at National Headquarters, will now oversee Special Duties and External Relations. DCM Ahmed Tahir Hassan, fdc, remains as head of the Technical Service Department (TSD) at the National Headquarters, Abuja.
Additionally, Assistant Corps Marshal Godwin Omiko, Ph.D., previously overseeing the Motor Vehicle Administration Department, has been appointed to lead the Project Implementation Office. ACM Emmanuel Dung, formerly in charge of the Corps Safety Engineering Office, will now head the Motor Vehicle Administration at the National Headquarters.
The reshuffle also saw new Sector Commanders appointed for Ekiti, Plateau, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Minna, Kogi, Bayelsa, Taraba, Jigawa, Osun, Imo, and Zamfara states, signaling a widespread reorganization across several regions.
In a historic move, Corps Commander Ann Oladayo Odeleye, fsi, was appointed as Acting Zonal Commanding Officer of RS Zone 2 Lagos, covering Lagos and Ogun States. This marks the first time a female officer has held the position in the Corps’ history.
Expressing confidence in the newly redeployed officers, the Corps Marshal urged them to leverage their wealth of experience and expertise to drive impactful leadership and ensure the Corps’ continued success in achieving its mandate.
