Abuja, September 15, 2025 – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released updated figures on the ongoing nationwide voter registration, covering both online pre-registration and physical (in-person) enrolment.
This was contained in a statement signed by Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner & Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee on Monday, September 15, 2025

Online Pre-Registration
As of Sunday, September 14, 2025, a total of 4,445,505 Nigerians have completed online pre-registration within just four weeks of the exercise, which began on August 18, 2025.
The breakdown shows:
2,141,294 (48.17%) males and 2,304,211 (51.83%) females
2,924,643 (65.79%) youths aged 18–34
1,112,344 (25.02%) students
Completed Registrations

By Friday, September 12, 2025, the number of completed registrations—combining online pre-registration with in-person capture stood at 509,929.
Of this figure:
229,758 (45.06%) males and 280,171 (54.94%) females
378,132 (74.15%) youths aged 18–34
196,529 (38.54%) students
INEC noted that detailed state-by-state distribution of online and completed registrations by gender, age, occupation, and disability has been published on its official website and other platforms.
Ward-Level Registration in FCT
The Commission also reminded residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that online voter pre-registration ends today, Monday, September 15, 2025.

For the next two weeks, physical registration will take place at designated centres.
From September 29 to October 8, 2025, INEC will further devolve registration to all 62 Wards in the FCT.
Addresses of the ward registration centres are already available on INEC’s official platforms.
