The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted the public to a fraudulent recruitment advert currently circulating on social media, falsely claiming that the Commission is hiring for various positions.
According to INEC, the impostors behind the scam have been directing unsuspecting applicants to a fake website, www.inecrecruitment.com, to submit applications. The Commission clarified that it has no such portal and is not conducting any recruitment exercise at this time.
INEC therefore urged Nigerians to disregard the fake advert and avoid falling victim to the antics of criminal elements exploiting job seekers.
“The Commission is not recruiting. Members of the public are advised to be vigilant and ignore this fraudulent call for applications,” the statement read.
The electoral body further reiterated its commitment to transparent and credible processes in all its official activities, assuring citizens that any legitimate recruitment exercise will be formally announced through its official communication channels.
