The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) portal, www.cvr.inecnigeria.org, recorded a total of 26,255 hits as of 12:35 pm today, Monday, August 18, 2025.
The online pre-registration exercise, which commenced this morning, provides eligible Nigerians with the opportunity to register, update, or transfer their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the physical registration exercise scheduled to begin on Monday, August 25, 2025, at all INEC State and Local Government Area offices nationwide.
The Commission emphasized that the process is open to new voters who have attained the age of 18, as well as citizens wishing to replace lost or damaged PVCs. However, it reiterated that multiple registrations remain prohibited and warned against engaging in such acts.
INEC commended Nigerians for their enthusiastic response to the exercise and urged more citizens to take advantage of the online platform to complete their pre-registration.
“The surge in hits on the CVR portal underscores the growing commitment of Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. We urge all eligible citizens to register now and secure their right to vote in future elections,” the Commission stated.
