The Federal Road Safety Corps has commissioned a table tennis court at its national headquarters in Abuja as part of efforts to enhance staff wellbeing and productivity.
The facility was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, who described the initiative as a strategic investment in the physical and mental health of personnel.
According to him, the project goes beyond recreation, providing a platform for relaxation, improved mental alertness, and team bonding among staff.
He noted that the court meets standard requirements and is accessible to both beginners and experienced players within the Corps.
The Corps Marshal explained that the initiative aligns with the agency’s broader commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles through sports, while also supporting talent development within the organisation.
He added that creating a conducive environment for sporting activities would boost morale and encourage personnel to engage in healthy and productive pursuits.
Staff were urged to take ownership of the facility by ensuring proper use and maintenance, while upholding discipline and sportsmanship.
The commissioning marks another step in the Corps’ ongoing efforts to strengthen staff welfare and institutional development.
