…Pushing Boundaries in Road Safety and Digital Innovation
In a major stride towards leveraging technology for public safety and service efficiency, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has unveiled a dynamic and user-friendly mobile application the FRSC Mobile App designed to revolutionize how Nigerians access road safety services.
The mobile application, now available on the Google Play Store, offers a one-stop platform for accessing a wide range of FRSC services, including driver’s licence renewal, vehicle plate number and licence verification, real-time safety alerts, blackspot detection, road crash reporting, and live streaming of National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM.
More than a technological upgrade, the FRSC Mobile App represents a strategic response to the rising demand for real-time access to road safety information and services. With just a few taps on a smartphone, users can now enjoy seamless, end-to-end access to critical FRSC functions whether at home, in the office, or on the move.
According to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, the application was developed with the safety and convenience of road users in mind. “This innovation brings FRSC services closer to the people, strengthens accountability, and enhances safety awareness. In a digital age, ignorance is no longer an excuse for expired documentation or unsafe road behavior,” he said.
Key Features of the FRSC Mobile App:
- Driver’s Licence Renewal: Apply for and renew your licence without visiting any physical office.
- Verification Services: Confirm the authenticity of driver’s licences and vehicle number plates.
- Real-Time Safety Alerts: Get notified of speed limit violations and stay within safe driving thresholds.
- Blackspot Detection: Access mapped data of crash-prone areas to plan safer travel routes.
- Live National Traffic Radio Streaming: Listen to traffic updates, safety campaigns, and emergency advisories.
- Reporting Tool: Report road obstructions, accidents, and misconduct by FRSC personnel directly through the app.
The Corps Marshal emphasized that the success of the initiative depends largely on public adoption. He encouraged all motorists, logistics operators, fleet managers, and commuters to download and actively use the free application.
“This is not just an app it’s a lifesaving tool. Every Nigerian road user should see this as a necessity, not a luxury. Your safety is your responsibility, and now, it’s just a tap away,” he added.
