The Federal Government has officially released the results of the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into the 80 Federal Unity Colleges across the country.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in Abuja by the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, who also disclosed the results for the Federal Government Academy (FGA), Suleja, Niger State.
According to the Minister, a total of 64,578 candidates registered for the 2025 NCEE, out of which 61,290 sat for the examination, while 3,288 candidates were absent.
Prof. Ahmad revealed that 13 candidates scored the highest mark of 202 out of the maximum obtainable score of 210, while 27 candidates recorded the lowest score of 1.

However, the exercise was not without challenges. She noted that 52 candidates two from Lagos and 50 from Rivers State were caught for involvement in examination malpractice, a record number this year.
Highlighting the significance of the Common Entrance, she emphasized that it is a highly competitive exam conducted annually for Nigerian children at home and abroad seeking admission into JSS1 of the Unity Colleges.
“This year’s examination took place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, not only in Nigeria but also in Benin Republic and Togo,” the Minister stated.
On the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, she said 3,421 candidates registered, with 3,141 sitting for the exam, while 280 candidates were absent. The highest score in the FGA exam was 194, and the lowest score was 1.
Reaffirming the admission policy, she stated that selection into Unity Colleges will continue to be based on the standard criteria of 60% merit, 30% equality of state, and 10% exigency.

Prof. Ahmad urged the Senior Secondary Education Department to ensure that admission processes are concluded promptly and in accordance with these guidelines.
She also reassured Nigerian parents of the government’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure, feeding, and teacher quality in Unity Colleges to maintain their status as top-choice institutions.
The Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, officially presented the results to the Minister during the event.
