The Federal Government of Nigeria extends its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the tragic explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in southern Iran, which claimed 28 lives and left over 800 others injured.
In a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Nigeria affirmed its solidarity with Iran during this period of profound grief and sorrow. The Government of Nigeria shares in the pain of the bereaved families and all those affected by this unfortunate incident.
The Ministry commended the swift and courageous response of Iranian emergency services and urged sustained efforts to provide relief and support to the injured and impacted communities.
Nigeria stands in compassion and friendship with Iran, offering thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families, and the entire Iranian nation during this difficult time.
