Premier League side Everton have shown strong interest in signing Wilfred Ndidi from relegated Leicester City, but the Super Eagles midfielder is reportedly holding out for a move to Manchester United.
Following Leicester’s drop to the Championship, Ndidi is expected to leave the club this summer. A modest release clause of £9 million in his contract makes him an attractive prospect for top-flight clubs looking for an experienced defensive midfielder.
Despite Everton’s interest, Ndidi is believed to favor a transfer to Manchester United, who have long admired his midfield qualities. However, the Red Devils have reportedly submitted a £5 million bid, which insiders have described as a “lowball” offer, likely in an attempt to capitalize on Leicester’s financial constraints following their relegation.
Former Super Eagles forward Julius Aghahowa, a close friend of Ndidi, confirmed Everton’s interest in the 27-year-old, adding that discussions are ongoing but the player’s preference remains clear.
Ndidi, who joined Leicester City in 2017, has been a consistent performer in the Premier League and a key figure in Nigeria’s midfield. His next move could shape not only his career but also the ambitions of whichever club secures his signature.
