The ECOWAS Network of Electoral Commissions (ECONEC) Joint Post-Election Follow-up and Needs Assessment Mission to The Gambia continued its engagements today with a strategic visit to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of The Gambia.
The delegation was warmly received by the Vice Chairman of the Commission, Joseph Colley, who was joined by IEC Commissioners and senior management staff during the meeting.
The visit forms part of ECONEC’s ongoing efforts to support electoral processes across the region by evaluating recent elections and identifying areas for further institutional support and capacity strengthening.
In a group photograph taken after the meeting, Vice Chairman Joseph Colley is seen (in a suit) alongside the Chairman of Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu (3rd right), ECONEC President Mr. Konneh Mohammed Kwenewui (4th left), as well as IEC Commissioners and other members of the ECONEC Assessment Team.
The joint mission underscores ECONEC’s commitment to fostering credible, transparent, and inclusive elections across West Africa through peer support and collaboration among electoral bodies.
