The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army to remain resolute in their commitment to national peace and security, urging them to make enduring sacrifices in the service of the nation.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele.

General Oluyede made the call while addressing personnel of the 22 Armoured Brigade, the Nigerian Army Institute of Science Education and Technology (NAISET), and the Nigerian Army College of Education, Ilorin, during his operational visit to Kwara State.
The COAS underscored the critical role of the military in ensuring a peaceful and stable environment conducive to national development. He urged troops to decisively counter all threats to peace, warning that criminal elements must not be allowed any operational foothold in Kwara State and beyond.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to troops’ welfare, General Oluyede assured personnel of ongoing efforts to improve living and working conditions across formations. These efforts, he said, include the upgrade of barracks infrastructure, educational facilities, healthcare services, and the provision of essential military kits and equipment.

He also highlighted the recent enhancement of Troop’s Ration Cash Allowance as a morale booster, intended to encourage greater dedication and sacrifice in safeguarding the country’s unity and stability.
“Nigerians are looking up to you to keep the nation safe, secure, and united,” the COAS declared, pledging his unwavering support to ensure troops succeed in all assigned operations.
Earlier, in their separate briefings, the Commander of 22 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Ezra Barkins; the Commandant of NAISET, Brigadier General Damian Dieke; and the Provost of the Nigerian Army College of Education, Brigadier General Chidi Echebiwe, presented updates on the activities, achievements, and challenges facing their respective institutions.
