
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, conducted an on-the-ground evaluation of ongoing troop training exercises at the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kachia, Kaduna State.
In a statement issued by the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army Chief reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the quality of training as a core component of his leadership philosophy.
General Oluyede emphasized that the Nigerian Army under his command places a premium on rigorous and continuous training, which he described as the bedrock of operational effectiveness. According to him, only thoroughly trained personnel can meet the demands of real-world deployments and perform optimally in the field.
Addressing officers and soldiers at the training centre, the COAS encouraged them to remain focused, dedicated, and to approach their training with seriousness. He urged them to prepare to apply their newly acquired skills to make a tangible impact during future missions.
He also commended the training instructors for their efficiency and professionalism, pledging increased support to the training centre to ensure it continues to produce combat-ready soldiers.
General Oluyede concluded by charging the troops to uphold the highest standards of discipline and professionalism, stressing that such values are essential to justifying the Army’s substantial investment in their development.
