Abuja, September 23, 2025 – The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to safeguarding national security, peace, and unity.

According to the statement, he gave the assurance today when he received members of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum, led by Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, on a courtesy visit to the Defense Headquarters, Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Ikenya commended the AFN for its critical role in restoring peace across the country. He particularly noted the military’s efforts that have enabled farmers to return to their farmlands, thereby boosting food production and economic stability.
The senator distanced the forum from negative criticisms of the military by “uninformed individuals,” stressing that the AFN has made remarkable progress in the fight against insecurity. He cited the significant improvement along the Abuja–Kaduna highway as a visible example of the military’s achievements.
In his response, General Musa thanked the forum for its solidarity and pledged that the Armed Forces would remain steadfast in their mission to secure the nation. He also praised the forum’s inclusive membership, describing them as patriotic Nigerians dedicated to fostering peace and unity across the federation.

The CDS emphasized that the AFN will continue to sustain the momentum against threats to national security and will not relent in its duty to protect the lives and property of citizens.
