The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, DFS, has directed a renewed and intensified offensive against insurgents, terrorists, and criminal elements threatening Nigeria’s peace and territorial integrity.
Air Marshal Aneke gave the directive today, 5 November 2025, during a high-level strategic meeting with Air Component Commanders from all operational theatres at the NAF Headquarters, Abuja.
The meeting, which brought together operational leaders from across the country, marks a decisive step in recalibrating the NAF’s operational strategy under the current leadership. It provided a platform to harmonize ongoing efforts, strengthen joint operations, and reaffirm the NAF’s role as a critical instrument of national security and a beacon of hope for Nigerians.
Addressing the commanders, the CAS emphasized that modern warfare demands agility, precision, and intelligence-driven operations.
“We must fly smarter and strike harder not only to neutralize threats but to protect the lives and property of Nigerians. Every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism,” Air Marshal Aneke charged.
He noted that the dynamic nature of emerging threats requires greater synchronization of air, land, and maritime operations to achieve unified mission success.
“Our operations must be intelligence-led, coordinated, and focused. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with sister services and security agencies to maintain a united front against terrorism and criminality,” he added.
Air Marshal Aneke also reassured NAF personnel of his unwavering commitment to their welfare, training, and operational capability, stressing that innovation and technology will drive future operations.
“Every airman and airwoman has a role to play in achieving our collective vision. I will ensure you are equipped, trained, and motivated to deliver results,” he pledged.
Reiterating the Force’s loyalty to the government’s national security objectives, the CAS maintained that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to applying decisive force with discipline, professionalism, and respect for international standards.
“We will act firmly against those who threaten our peace — with precision, humanity, and accountability. The Nigerian people, government, and our international partners expect nothing less,” he stated.
He charged commanders to translate strategy into measurable results, sustain operational tempo, and ensure every sortie achieves tangible ground impact.
“The safety and confidence of our citizens are the true indicators of mission success. Nigeria is counting on us — and we will not fail,” Air Marshal Aneke declared.
The strategic engagement reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to operational excellence, inter-agency cooperation, personnel motivation, and the ongoing efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty and stability.
