
The family of the late Nigerian elder statesman and nationalist, Chief Edwin Clark, has announced the schedule of his burial rites, with the final interment set for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in his hometown, Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Chief Clark, a prominent South-South leader and former Federal Commissioner for Information, passed away on February 17, 2025, in Abuja at the age of 97.
The burial program was formally unveiled by his eldest son, Penaowei Clark, during a brief ceremony held at the Clark family compound in Kiagbodo. The event was graced by notable dignitaries including the traditional ruler of the Mein Kingdom, HRM Samuel Fuludu (Ogiogio II); head of the Clark family, Prof. C.C. Clark; and Delta State Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure Development, Chief Ebikeme Clark.

Penaowei Clark disclosed that the burial activities will span nearly two weeks, beginning Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
