The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has announced the opening of applications for the sixth cohort of its flagship AIG Public Leaders Programme (AIG PLP), a six-month executive education initiative aimed at strengthening leadership capacity across Africa’s public sector.
Delivered in partnership with the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, the programme equips high-potential public servants from English-speaking African countries with strategic insight, reform tools, and cross-border networks necessary to drive sustainable institutional change.
Applications will remain open until Sunday, April 12, 2026, with the programme scheduled to commence in October 2026.

Proven Impact Across Africa
Since its launch in 2021, the AIG PLP has established a strong track record of measurable impact. Alumni have collectively designed and implemented more than 230 reform projects across ministries, departments, and agencies spanning healthcare, finance, agriculture, education, and other critical sectors.
According to an impact survey, 62 percent of programme alumni have earned promotions or assumed expanded leadership roles following completion of the course underscoring its influence on both career advancement and institutional effectiveness.
Speaking on the programme’s vision, Executive Vice-Chair of the Foundation, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, noted that Africa’s governance challenges require reform-minded leaders who understand complex systems and can translate policy into sustainable results.
She emphasised that the programme was specifically designed to empower public officials with the practical capabilities required to implement meaningful change within their institutions.
Transforming Policy into Action
One notable example of impact is the reform initiative led by Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA). Through the programme, she launched a secure self-reporting tool that enables survivors of domestic and sexual abuse to document incidents safely while preserving critical evidence for future legal action.
The initiative has already facilitated improved access to support services while safeguarding documentation until justice processes can be pursued.
A Fully Funded Executive Experience
The AIG PLP offers a blended learning model combining virtual sessions with an intensive residential module at Oxford. The programme is fully funded, covering tuition, accommodation, and feeding during residential weeks.
Participants receive direct access to world-class faculty and engage in rigorous modules covering:
Negotiation in the public interest
Digital technology in governance
Strengthening public institutions
Integrity and accountability in public life.
The programme culminates in a capstone reform project, enabling participants to apply acquired knowledge to a real institutional challenge within their organisation.
Interested and qualified public servants are encouraged to submit applications early via the Foundation’s official website.
